Mike Denman will be running workshops here at Imperiya Eighty Four. He began his training at the age of 6 at the Staples School of Dance, he then went on to study at The Northern Ballet School in Manchester.

Currently starring in the huge hit musical Chicago as Harrison and cover for Billy Flynn, Mike has a number of theatre credits to his name. Undertaking leading roles he has toured extensively with hit shows 'Thoroughly Moden Mille', 'Saturday Night Fever', 'Kiss me Kate' and 'On Your Toes' to name but a few.

School Holiday - 4 Day Workshops

Led by Mike Denman and Ilya Andreyev, two of the UK's leading dance professionals with over 20 years professional dancing experience between them.

The object of 'Dance Intensive' workshops is to allow students of all age and ability to come together under one roof to celebrate and build on what they know and love about dance and performance.

A unique dance experience without syllabus work. Open to students from age 8yrs +, students must have some dance experience.

Over the 4 day period our highly skilled lecturers will be able to build on the ability of each individual through the acquisition of new dance skills and styles. Our up-beat high tempo classes give you the chance to improve on technique and strength, as well as, learn set show repertoires.

Each course allows students to study new dance disciplines and styles. Students will train in the following dance disciplines:- Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre/Tap,National/Character.

Our workshops are designed to be new and exciting yet informative and offer each student the chance to learn from the vast professional experiences our tutors are able to offer.

Each course ends with an 'open class' or 'showpiece' where parents/guests are welcome.

Courses run over 4 days, based on 4 dance sessions per day. A 15% discount is available for any groups over 5 people. Accompanying Dance Teachers are welcome to observe or participate in classes.

Early booking is essential as places are limited and are allocated strictly on a 'first come, first served basis'. The closing date for booking is 2 weeks prior to commencement of the workshop.

The class was fun and some greta moves! Very enjoyable.

It was a really good class and every time I hear the songs it makes me smile and laugh. Everyone was really enthusiastic and got over embarrassment easily. I liked the style and thanks for coming in.

Feedback from street dance

Imperiya 84 arranged a night's workshop with the 11th Tynemouth Guides at their headquarters. The session was a great success with over 35 girls enjoying a dynamic and energetic workshop in dance.

They thoroughly enjoyed the session and in particular enjoyed learning routines, which were "cool, easy to learn, and motivated them to do more exercise"

The instructor was an enthusiastic charismatic teacher and the girls were able to fully relate to what he was teaching them.

One positive aspect of the workshop was that Imperiya were able to come to our venue outside school hours, which enabled us to give the girls something they may not usually attend.
